Move Over
Almost Every Day Some Where in the United States an Emergency Responder is Injured or Killed at a V
WE AT THE MISSOURI TOW TRUCK ASSOCIATION WOULD LIKE YOUR HELP IN EDUCATING THE PUBLIC ABOUT THE MOVE OVER LAWS IN BOTH MISSOURI AND KANSAS. (MO. 304.022) (KS. 8-1530). The MTTA has developed a bumper sticker as a focal point for public awareness and compliance with the laws.
THESE LAWS REQUIRE DRIVERS WHEN APPROACHING A STATIONARY EMERGENCY VEHICLE WITH ITS LIGHTS ON, WORKING ON OR IN ANY PART OF THE ROADWAY, TO YIELD THE RIGHT OF WAY, AND MOVE OVER ONE LANE OR AS A MINIMUM SLOW DOWN AND MOVE OVER HALF A LANE.
This effort is not just for tow and recovery personnel, but all Emergency Responders, Law Enforcement, Fire and Rescue, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Hazmat and DOT workers.
Our goal is to increase public awareness and reduce injuries and deaths due to secondary accidents at primary accident scenes or other road hazard situations, for all Emergency Responders.
