About Us
Tow truck driving is a profession fraught with risks, where the safety of operators is paramount.
Who We Are
Tow truck driving is a profession fraught with risks, where the safety of operators is paramount. Every year, numerous tow truck drivers are injured or killed in the line of duty, often due to inadequate training and preparedness. Missouri Tow Truck Association (MTTA), understanding these grave concerns, has developed a comprehensive training program aimed at saving lives and enhancing the safety of tow truck operators.
The Missouri Tow Truck Association (MTTA) was established in 1990 in order to work for improvements in the regulations for the towing industry in the State of Missouri. We work on behalf of the towing companies throughout the state all year to advance positive legislation, prevent negative legislation, promote training opportunities and provide an understanding of our industry to the public and governmental bodies.

State of Missouri
The core of Missouri Tow Truck Association (MTTA) training program revolves around equipping drivers with the necessary skills and knowledge to handle various on-road challenges. The curriculum covers a wide range of topics, including defensive driving techniques, proper use of safety equipment, and emergency response protocols. Additionally, it emphasizes the importance of situational awareness and proactive risk management, ensuring that drivers can anticipate and mitigate potential hazards before they escalate.
One of the key components of the training is practical, hands-on experience. Trainees are given the opportunity to simulate real-life scenarios in a controlled environment, allowing them to practice and refine their skills under the guidance of experienced instructors. This approach not only builds confidence but also ensures that drivers are fully prepared to face the unpredictable nature of their job.
Missouri Tow Truck Association (MTTA) commitment to safety extends beyond the individual driver. The program also includes training on how to effectively communicate with other emergency responders and coordinate actions during multi-agency operations. This holistic approach ensures that all parties involved in a towing operation can work together seamlessly, minimizing risks and enhancing overall safety. Furthermore, Missouri Tow Truck Association (MTTA) advocates for ongoing education and refresher courses. They understand that the dynamics of the towing industry are constantly evolving, and staying updated with the latest safety practices is crucial. By providing continuous learning opportunities, they ensure that tow truck operators remain at the forefront of safety and efficiency.

In addition to the training program, Missouri Tow Truck Association (MTTA) actively engages in awareness campaigns to highlight the importance of tow truck safety. They collaborate with industry stakeholders, government agencies, and community organizations to promote safe driving practices and advocate for policies that protect tow truck operators.
The impact of Missouri Tow Truck Association’s (MTTA) initiatives is evident in the positive feedback from the trainees. Many drivers have reported a significant improvement in their confidence and ability to handle challenging situations on the road. The training has not only made them better drivers but has also instilled a sense of pride and responsibility towards their profession.
Missouri Tow Truck Association’s (MTTA) mission is clear: to save lives and prevent injuries among tow truck operators. Through their dedicated training programs and continuous efforts to raise awareness, they are making a tangible difference in the industry. By prioritizing safety and education, Missouri Tow Truck Association (MTTA) is paving the way for a safer, more secure future for all tow truck drivers.
